Black Ops 7 is kicking off Season 1 with a major content drop, headlined by eight new multiplayer maps joining the rotation. Four maps: Fate, Utopia, Odysseus, and Standoff, will be live on December 4 at the start of the season. The mid-season update brings even more heat with Meltdown, Yakei, and Fringe, along with a festive twist on a fan favorite: Sleighjacked, a holiday variation of Hijacked. For longtime players, the return of Meltdown, Fringe, and Standoff from Black Ops 2 is especially notable. Their proven competitive layouts give them a strong chance of joining the official CDL map set once they’re added to the game.

Season 1 also delivers a sizeable boost to the weapon pool with seven new guns, three of which could realistically break into competitive play. The Maddox RFB makes its return from Black Ops 4, known back then as the premier flex AR, and will almost certainly be tested by pros the moment it drops. The Kogot-7, a remake of the iconic MP7, brings a fast-firing, high-mobility SMG option that fits the competitive mold. The Sturmwolf 45, a fresh take on the UMP lineage, is also expected to draw early interest given the UMP’s history as a top-tier competitive SMG in games like Modern Warfare 2.

With classic map remasters, new battlegrounds, and several weapons that could shake up the CDL meta, Black Ops 7 is shaping up for a strong first season.
